Canada Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw
From 14th September 2022, the main Lotto 6/49 draw has been known as the Classic Draw. There is a jackpot of CA$5 million and six other ways to win in every draw. The Classic Draw offers all the traditional elements of the game that have been in place since Lotto 6/49 was launched in 1982. Draws are held on Wednesday and Saturday nights.
How to Play
To play the Classic Draw, select six numbers from 1 to 49. You can choose your own numbers or opt for as Quick Pick if you want to use a random selection that has been generated by the computer.
Decide how many draws you want to enter, and make sure to buy your tickets before the cut-off time in your province. It costs CA$3 per play. You will be automatically entered into the Gold Ball Jackpot draw when you take part.
Classic Draw Prizes
The Lotto 6/49 jackpot has historically been allowed to roll if there are no winners, but the Classic Draw has a fixed top prize of CA$5 million.
You have to match all six numbers to win or share the Classic jackpot. If nobody wins, it stays at $5 million for the next draw.
You can also win other prizes by matching fewer numbers, starting with a free play if you get two out of six. There is a Bonus Ball drawn from the remaining 43 numbers after the first six have been selected. This gives you an opportunity to boost your prize payout if you have matched two or five of the main numbers. The table below shows the different ways you can win. The fixed prizes are paid out first before the rest of the pools fund is divided up.
